Workspaces
Workspaces are the top-level container in Virza. Everything (documents, collections, notes, team members) lives inside a workspace.
One workspace per project
We recommend creating separate workspaces for separate research projects or teams. This keeps things organized and ensures the right people have access to the right documents.
Common patterns
| Use case | Suggested setup |
|---|---|
| Solo researcher | One workspace per major project |
| Research lab | One workspace per lab, with collections per project |
| Course/class | One workspace per course |
| Organization | One workspace per department or team |
Workspace settings
Navigate to Settings (gear icon in the sidebar) to manage:
- General: Workspace name, description, and avatar
- Members: Invite, remove, and manage team members
- Billing: View your plan, usage, and invoices
- Data: Export your workspace data
Only Owners and Admins can access workspace settings. If you don’t see the settings option, ask your workspace owner to upgrade your role.
Deleting a workspace
Workspace deletion is permanent and can only be done by the Owner:
- Go to Settings → General
- Scroll to the danger zone
- Click Delete Workspace
- Confirm by typing the workspace name
All documents, collections, notes, and member associations are permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.
